PADI Tec Sidemount Instructor

Sidemount diving has caught on in both recreational and open-circuit tec diving as a popular alternative equipment configuration and the demand is growing for the PADI Sidemount Course and for Sidemount Instructors.

There are two levels of Sidemount Instructor: Recreational and Technical and you can do either level with us.

As a Tec Sidemount Instructor, you can qualify divers to use sidemount so they can take any of the TecRec open-circuit tec courses using the configuration. You can also train divers to use sidemount within the limits of their current open-circuit TecRec certifications.

Prerequisites for PADI Tec Sidemount Instructor

• PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI)
• PADI Enriched Air Instructor (or have completed the course)
• PADI Deep Diver Instructor (or have completed the course)
• Logged dives required
  • 20 with nitrox
  • 25 deeper than 18 meters
  • 15 deeper than 30 meters

Postrequisites for PADI Tec Sidemount Instructor

• PADI Enriched Air Instructor
• PADI Deep Diver Instructor
• PADI Tec Sidemount Diver (this can be integrated with the Instructor level course)
• PADI Tec Instructor
• Logged dives:
  • 20 Technical sidemount dives including 10 with 3 or more cylinders

Benefits of the Tec Sidemount Instructor Training Course

• Learn how to conduct the course based on examples of your Course Director's role model demonstrations.
• Qualify with fewer experience dives than if you apply directly.
• Begin training before becoming fully certified as PADI Enriched Air, Deep Diver or Tec Instructors (although you must complete these prior to certification).
